3-A DC/DC uModule regulator is EN55022 Class B Noise Compliant
July 23, 2010 | Paul Buckley | 222900933
Linear Technology Corporation has introduced a complete 3 A DC/DC µModule regulator system, which in addition to the device's onboard inductor, DC/DC converter and supporting circuitry, includes an EMI filter that claims to make it compliant with EN55022 Class B by a wide margin.
The circuitry is housed in a small 11.25 mm x 15 mm x 4.32 mm enclosed plastic LGA (land grid array) package and weighs only 2.3g. The LTM8033 operates from a wide input voltage range of 3.6 V to 36 V and can provide a regulated output voltage ranging from 0.8 V to 24 V at up to 3 A. If more than 3 A is required, multiple LTM8033 devices can be paralleled for current sharing.
Simplicity, compactness and EN55022 compliance allows the LTM8033 to be used in applications that require low noise operation such as medical equipment, avionics systems, communication wireless systems and ultrasonic detectors. The LTM8033 has a resistor-selectable switching frequency adjustable from 200 kHz to 2.4 MHz, enabling the designer to improve efficiency according to the VIN-to-VOUT ratio of the conversion.
The LTM8033 is rated for operation from -40 to 125 degrees C and -55 to 125 degrees C. 1,000-piece pricing starts at 11.95 US Dollars each.
Summary of features: LTM8033
